How to Organize a Small Kitchen
A kitchen is one important part of the household. It needs to be well organised even if the size of the kitchen is embarrassingly small. It takes plenty of effort and time to tidy your kitchen and keep everything in the right place. A smaller kitchen can be harder to organise than a larger one but keep a more organised kitchen can help you cook and make your kitchen life easier. You need to know what goes where to help free space for other tools. At times, you might waste precious space by adding tools that you barely use and could make smaller kitchens look more compact.
Instructions
1
Prepare a plan!
Before you start organising your kitchen, you need to prepare a proper plan to arrange all your tools exactly where they will stand. It can help you concentrate on your free space and arrange everything to its position without rotating each tool and appliance if they fail to shape into a corner.
2
Kitchen Cabinets!
Invest some money on a small sized cabinet. Before you buy one, measure out the size of the cabinet on a part of your wall and find out where exactly it will look suitable. Every member of the family will be using the cabinet for certain tools and they need to find them easy to access. During your preparations, keep all your kitchen tools spaced out and try not to jam most of your equipment together. It can get be very frustrating to move many things to reach a tool.
3
Drawers and shelves!
A lot of your kitchen may have junk that look very disturbing when they are spread everywhere. While you plan your kitchen space, leave plenty of room for drawers and shelves which can be used for storing dishes and other items. These might include cereal boxes, food ingredients and more. Keep a separate area for aprons, oven gloves and tongs.
4
Placing kitchen utensils!
Do a thorough idea of where your utensils will be held. It is important to maintain enough space for each appliance on its own. You do not want to end up sketching a full idea with these utensils and because they don’t fit in a certain area, you might have to re-do your planning which will waste your time. When placing these appliances, make sure that they can be easily accessed without difficultly of having to move other tools. Store other kitchen items like towels, table mats, tissues and napkins in separate drawers to prevent confusion.
5
Labelling!
This can be a very good option if you want to avoid confusion. Too many drawers will lead all the family members to waste their time looking for what they need. If you’re the one placing the tools around the kitchen, you might remember where they will be found. But none of your family members will ever know until they check every drawer. This is why labelling your items and drawers will be the best way you can save time while cooking and help your family members along.
6
Clean!
You should very well know that a kitchen should be kept clean at all times. Wipe all kitchen surfaces, dishes, the sink and the cooker after use. Do not leave the tools dirty for prolonged periods of time as it can cause a horrendous smell. Even a dirty sink can bring out a stink that will last throughout the day and night. This will certainly attract flies and would spread bacteria and diseases throughout the whole kitchen.
7
Summary
Overall, a kitchen should be organised well so it can provide you the happiness of cooking. All kitchens can look the most attractive place out of your whole household. But you need to make sure your creative skills are effective and that your plan works very well.
